This soul Journal Journey was started by Sarah Whitmire
and continued in the Yahoo group Soul Journal,where we are given new prompts by Kathryn Antyr these are the ones displayed on the other page link. Here I will post the pages inspired by Sarah’s original prompts I am working on them both simultaneously as an apprenticeship to being able to go off on my own altering books! I am up to prompt 18 as of today Sunday .
This was the first and second prompts. The first day we had to claim our Journal by doodling our name like a child in class. That’s me. The second day we had to protect ourselves form inner (tough ) and other critics with a suit of armour, I found a fierce warrior and at this stage I decided to take both the eye and the jigsaw piece along for the rest of the ride. The puzzle being obviously an indication of the puzzle life is to us and of finding out where we fit in it?
Eyes are probably the most important symbolic sensory organ. They can represent clairvoyance, omniscience, and/or a gateway into the soul. Other qualities that eyes are commonly associated with are: intelligence, light, vigilance, moral conscience, and truth. Looking someone in the eye is a western custom of honesty. This started a bit pale, I had to go back and darken it when I did the page beside it, I often go back and do more work on a page, the book is constantly evolving. We need to protect that dear little child within us all!

——————————————————————————————————————We covered these pages with secrets, the tape, all sorts, then Gesso, you can see some really interesting texture emerging over the buried truths.
We were asked to press a flower and I did but I have mislaid it but I laid the same flower on the page for the pic. 
I love the way this page turned out, I ran out of border but

will complete it! You can still see the tape with my secrets beneath. Horses represent stamina and communication. Two things we all need!

For this next page we collected magazine pics and laid them out on the page then gessoed and drew around them etc. The message ended up being art is……..all of those things
I have continued to use the eye and puzzle piece. I seem to use a lot of gold which in Asian culture means wealth and strength, red=happiness, prosperity, marriage. Birds again for the soul .
